Teachers of SWMU

           Taking people as the first resource, Southwest Medical University has always been improving the comprehensive quality of teachers by carrying out the strategy of strengthening school through human resources development. Focusing on encouraging teachers to be academic leaders or excellent teachers with creativity and innovation ability, it has been deepening management system reform, optimizing teaching resources and developing an effective talent-cultivating mechanism. All these efforts are taken to build a team of high-quality teachers which has proper structure, adequate numbers, and great vitality, that can meet the needs for development of the university.

There are more than 1,000 full-time teachers working at SWMU, among which over 70% have master degrees or above; more than 50% have senior titles of professional post; one professor has been elected as the first and second class candidate for the One Million Talents Project; 30 experts enjoy the Special Allowance of the State Council; one professor is a Chair Professor listed in Changjiang Scholars of the Education Ministry; four teachers have been selected in the New Century Talents Supporting Program of the Education Ministry; one is an expert who was introduced by 100 Talents Bringing in Project of Sichuan Government; 10 teachers are regarded as the Academic and Technical Leaders of Sichuan Province; five teachers are awarded as Famous Teachers of Sichuan; one is awarded as the Teacher of High Moral Standards of Sichuan; eight teachers got the prize for Excellent Teachers of Sichuan; one is selected as the Excellent Young Teacher of Sichuan; 23 teachers are Excellent Experts with Outstanding Contributions of Sichuan; 88 teachers are backup candidates of the Academic and Technical Leaders of Sichuan Province; 148 teachers are candidates or backup candidates of academic and technical leaders of city-level. There are also more than 1,000 clinicians taking part in teaching. With master and above degrees or medium and above professional posts, they are undertaking the teaching tasks of both clinical theory and practice at three affiliated hospitals, which has formed an important teaching team for clinical teaching in SWMU.

In the future, SWMU will further strengthen the construction of teaching team; establish a dynamic talent working mechanism and an improved talent bringing-in, training and development mechanism, to promote the construction of teaching team and disciplines, and the progress of research and social service; to form a good environment in which talents could be encouraged, supported and assisted to concentrate on their career; to build a teacher team with high quality, proper structure and high moral standards.
